Get Involved — Volunteer!

Signing up to become a volunteer is a two-step process;

STep 1; PTO Signup

When adults volunteer, all students benefit! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved!  Your help is needed!  Complete the Volunteer Interest form and we will be in touch with you.

STep 2; District Volunteer Procedures

ALL VOLUNTEERS WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THIS PROCESS TO VOLUNTEER DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR.

For the safety and welfare of all students and staff, the Hillsboro School District conducts criminal history background checks on all volunteers ages 18 and over. Signing up to volunteer at North Plains (or any school in the Hillsboro School District) is relatively easy. And once you are cleared, you are good for two years.

There are two basic steps for becoming a volunteer through the district's recently updated online system:

  1. Go to https://volunteerapplication.hsd.k12.or.us, click on the language you'd like to use, then follow the link for "New Application" or "Renew Application"
  2. Complete the online application, which includes reading the Volunteer Handbook - the link to which is found in the application.

Once you have completed the application and allowed for processing (approximately one week), you must check with our office manager in the North Plains office. She can let you know if you have been cleared. Once you have confirmed that you have been cleared, check with your child's teacher or the PTO for available volunteer opportunities.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO ALWAYS CHECK IN WITH THE OFFICE, SIGN IN AND OUT ON THE CLIPBOARD AND ON THE COMPUTER, AND WEAR YOUR VOLUNTEER BADGE.
